Week 7
Hi Owls
I am so sorry about the mix up with our Zoom call today. There was an issue with the invite but I have created another one. An email is being sent with the new invite so please join me at half 1 to say bye for now and share our holiday plans.
All my best
Miss Ward
Hello AGAIN Owls,
It was so lovely to see you all today.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as your new teachers did, they were singing your praises all day. They are very excited for September and I know you will all do brilliantly.
I hope to see you all on Friday for our final Zoom of the year before our very well earned summer holiday. If you have any pictures that you would like to be put on to the website please send them across and I will post them on to our page.
Lukas this feast looks amazing. You have really thought about the healthy foods King Henry should have been eating.
Hello Owls,
We made it!
Well done to you and your parents for getting through home learning. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication over the past few months. I know at times it has been very difficult and we have had wobbles along the way but you should all be very proud of yourselves.
I will be doing an end of year Zoom call for you on Friday Morning. This will give us an opportunity to see everyone before the summer holiday. I will create a scavenger hunt for you to complete with your adult's help and give you time to ask any questions and share anything you have been up to and will be doing over the summer. I will send your invite via email again so please look out for it.
It has been lovely to be your Home Learning Teacher, although it would have been even better if we had been learning together in the classroom. It has been a very different end to our school year, but in September you will be able to come back to school as a whole class with your new teachers. If you or your parents have any questions please send me an email.
I hope to see a lot of you for your transition this week. I will be on the playground with your new teacher to welcome you, before you head to your new classroom. I have your books in your trays ready to pick up and I will talk to you about how to collect them when we meet on the playground.
I wish you all have a great week and I hope to see you all on Friday.
All my best,
Miss Ward
This week's Maths is a week we missed at the start of this term. Please look at the White Rose Maths home learning week 7 (w/c 8th June).
Below are the worksheets and answers that support this week's home learning.
Here is a short quiz about the seasons for you to complete. This will get you thinking about the different seasons. The answers are also included in the file.
For this week, I would like you to think about the fruits and vegetables we grow in Britain. Are there any fruits and vegetables you like that don't grow in Britain? You may want to have a look while in the supermarket or when helping put away the shopping to see where your fruits and vegetables come from.
In Britain, we grow fruits and vegetables at different times of the year (making them seasonal). I have included an activity to see if you can guess which season certain fruits and vegetables are harvested in.
There is an answer sheet included.
Questions to think about
Did anything surprise you? Which season do the most grow? Why do you think more fruits and vegetables grow in that season?
Additional - I have also included a nature walk activity that you may want to complete.
For our last week I thought something creative would be good.
Shields were a big thing during the Tudor era and described who you and your family were.
Have a look though the PowerPoint and create your own shield to describe yourself/ your family.
R.E.
This week the whole school is thinking about how we have learned to put our school values into practice during the school year. This might be in the classroom, on the playground or while you have been learning at home.
Remember, the four values are: GROW, ACHIEVE, CARE, COLLABORATE
Try to think of a story that matches one of the values. It could be a Bible story, a faith story from any religion or maybe a picture book or traditional tale that you know well.
Talk about the story and how it shows a school value, with your family. Then you could write about your ideas, draw a picture, make a poster or a model or even make a movie.
