Week 7
We made it to half term - a huge well done to everyone in Kingfishers, and thank you to all the people who have supported your learning this term, at home and at school.
This week we have finished our explanation texts in English. Kingfishers have some fantastic writing and diagrams about the penny-farthing in their golden writing books.:
I was really impressed with the children's engagement and thinking about our tricky RE concept question this week: "Does science disprove Genesis?" We learned a little about the "Big Bang" theory and compared scientific understanding with the Bible account of creation, generating some searching questions and great discussion.
Ask the children to tell you about Manchester's twin cities. I have put an activity on Seesaw for the children to do, to review their learning from our geography lessons if they would like.
I have also put a copy of Keats' "Ode to Autumn" in the children's Seesaw journals. We have been reading this poem in our Book Club lessons. Can anyone learn the poem, or a verse, by heart to recite to the class after the holidays?
I hope you all have a restful half-term break and manage to have some Tier 3-compliant fun!
Looking forward to seeing you and continuing our learning journey in November.
