Week 6

Hello!

This week in English pupils wrote their newspaper reports.  Last week we looked at the features of a newspaper report.  The features we discussed were facts, direct speech, reported speech, writing in the third person, writing in the past tense and formal language.  Having looked at examples of newspaper reports and attempted to identify as many examples of these features as possible, pupils wrote their own newspaper reports trying to use most, if not all, of these features.  The newspaper reports focused on a series of climate change protests attended largely by young people and school children.  Pupils worked exceptionally well and wrote fantastic reports.

In maths pupils have been continuing to look at fractions.  We looked at calculating fractions of amounts and using fractions as operators.

In science pupils looked at the harmful effects that alcohol and illegal drugs can have on the body.

Thank you!
