Week 6
Hello to all my FAB Finches and your families!
It was great to see so many of you on our zoom chat last Tuesday afternoon and we were so impressed with your responses during our class quiz! Zoom crashed on us after half an hour but luckily most of you clicked on the invite again and we could carry on with our catch up. We had a request to play bingo as part of our final zoom chat this week. I have attached some details below so you can prepare your own bingo card ready. Other family members are very welcome to join in too! If you are in a key worker bubble on Tuesday, please prepare your bingo card at home and bring it to school with you.
Thanks again for your lovely emails and updates throughout the week. I really enjoy hearing about what you have been doing.
I would like to wish Phoebe a very
HAPPY 9th BIRTHDAY for next Sunday!
Here are the instructions, to prepare your own Bingo card, ready for our zoom chat on Tuesday morning at 10:00am:
Tristan and Alex have kindly shared their Fairtrade acrostic poems with us:
Here's our sixth "Month of Memories" . . . . . . February 2020:

As it is 'Mandela Day' on 18th July 2020, I have included a PowerPoint about Nelson Mandela's life for you to look at. Then please choose challenge 1, 2 or 3 of the reading comprehension to complete:
Here's a reminder about Bug Club for reading but it is absolutely fine to read your own books from home:
Our punctuation and writing focus this week is to revise the use of inverted commas in speech. I have attached a poster and a range of activities to try. The final one reminds you to use better words than said:
Please continue to choose challenge 1, 2 or 3 on the weekly SPaG Mat:
Here are the next three spelling tasks (15 words) for this week:
Science for week beginning 13/7/20:
Our science theme this half term has been "Famous Scientists and Inventors" and earlier in the year we studied "Electricity". I would now like you to use the videos and activities on 'Espresso Learning at Home' to link these two topics.
Login at: www.discoveryeducation.co.uk

Please click on Espresso and select KS2 Science. Next scroll down to the block called "Electricity (upper)". Have a go at the activities and please make sure you watch the video about the 'invention of the lightbulb'. These activites will also help to prepare you for your science investigations in Year 5.
*Mrs. Firth would also like you to use Espresso online activities to revise all the science topics you have covered throughout Year 4.
Here are some suggested RE activities for this week:
Keep up the great work Finches, I am so proud of you all. Thank you parents for your continued help, support and encouragement with this home learning.
Looking forward to seeing you all at our class zoom on Tuesday at 10:00am. Some children have asked if they can show their pets at this catch up. This is fine with me but if you don't have a pet to join us, maybe you have something else you would like to show us or tell us about. Don't forget to have your bingo cards and pens at the ready!
Take care and keep safe.
Love from Miss Gregory and Lacey xx
Lacey was so excited this weekend, she came across a fallen tree and was surrounded by so many sticks to play with!
