This week in English we started looking at autobiographies.  We began on Monday by looking at an example of an autobiography written by a school child.  We then looked at the features of an autobiography, before trying to identify the use of these in the example.  Pupils then began planning their autobiographies, thinking about their families, hobbies, interests, friends, and dreams for the future.  Students have been working exceptionally hard on their autobiographies, which have been a pleasure to read.  Not only have they been extremely interesting and entertaining, but pupils have included punctuation features such as colons, semicolons, question marks and exclamation marks.

In maths pupils continued their work on multiplication and division, answering a series of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions on column multiplication and division.  At the end of the week pupils completed a post learning assessment.  Next week pupils will start looking at fractions.

In science pupils continued looking at evolution and the life and findings of Charles Darwin.  Students examined how fossils convinced Darwin that species can change over time.

In RE pupils looked at how religion has influenced the lives of successful sportspeople.  It was fascinating to read students work on how people such as Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Lewis Hamilton practice their faith.
