Swallows Class Blog Week 5 Autumn 2
Well done Swallows class for successfully completing your Autumn assessments.
We have had a creative week in Swallows class. Our learning has linked to our Design and Technology curriculum.
Decoration Day:
We made many decorations! We all made a penguin bauble linking to the book ‘and Tango makes three’. Look out for all the lovely decorations coming soon in the hall.
We dressed up super Christmassy.
English:
We have enjoyed making star maps and predictions linking to our new book ‘Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx’. We have continued to do our book club each week.
History:
This week Swallows class have learnt about mummification. We mummified apples with salt and bicarbonate of soda- look out for the results.
Advent:
We are enjoying opening our class Advent calendars. We have been learning how advent is a special time of year for Christians.
We have also enjoyed looking at an Advent calendar on our whiteboard. We are visiting the Nordic countries and taking part in the puzzles.
Special visitor:
Guess what!
An elf has visited our school and been in the Swallows Class. They made a mess of all the pencil pots and Mrs Pickering investigated.
