Week 5

******* bag2school pick up, Friday 10th July *******

Please drop off any bag (or bags) by 8.45am being mindful of social distancing when dropping them off.  Bags are to be left on the grass verge on the driveway slope.  Many thanks in advance.

Hello Finches and your families!

I hope you are all keeping safe and well. It was great to catch up with many of you last Wednesday, during our zoom chat. I'm really looking forward to our next meeting, on Tuesday at 2:00pm. Please join us if you can and make sure you have a pencil and paper, ready for our class quiz!

Thanks again for your lovely messages and emails from last week. I have attached some of your photos, to share with your classmates.

Oli Lyner has been hiding his decorated stones in Alderley Edge and making a yummy cheesecake! Tristan has really enjoyed finding out about Fairtrade and searching for as many things as he can at home, with the Fairtrade logo. Katherine Fulthorpe has shared her inventor comic strip and her own machine with us too:

Here's the work for this week, please just try to do your best:

Please continue to choose challenge 1, 2 or 3 on the weekly SPaG Mat:

Following on from your geography focus about 'Fairtrade' last week, I would like you to write your own acrostic poem on this theme. I have attached a powerpoint to help you identify the features of acrostic poems:

Geography work for week beginning 6/7/20:

Please complete the following chart, to show your personal Links with the World:

Science for week beginning 6/7/20:

Our science theme this half term has been "Famous Scientists and Inventors" and earlier in the year we studied "Electricity". I would now like you to use the videos and activities on 'Espresso Learning at Home' to link these two topics.

Login at: www.discoveryeducation.co.uk

Please click on Espresso and select KS2 Science. Next scroll down to the block called "Electricity (upper)". Have a go at the activities and please make sure you watch the video about the 'invention of the lightbulb'. These activites will also help to prepare you for your science investigations in Year 5.
