 'The Best Bits' Video

As we approach the end of the year, I thought it would be lovely if we could produce a 'Best Bits' video as a round up of a very different year.  It will give us an opportunity to reflect on all the fabulous things we have done before, during and post lockdown.  If you would like to contribute a short video clip of you saying what you have enjoyed most please forward it to robins@altrinchamceprimaryschool.co.uk.  If everyone makes their video a maximum of 10 seconds then I can hopefully put them all on one long video.  Taking videos in landscape also works best.  Please send your videos in by 6pm on Friday and then I can work on it next weekend.  I need to think about my best bit, there have been so many; reading breakfast, zoom catch ups, the Nativity production and that's just a few of the many happy memories from this year.

RE

KS1: This week our RE learning is based on an excellent resource recommended to us by our education colleagues at Chester Diocese.  The Diocese of Canterbury produced this PowerPoint for children and families to use as a home worship resource.  Look at the PowerPoint presentation with your family.  Talk about the pictures and the Bible story.   You might like to watch an animation of the story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyWZeOlaRo4

Think carefully about slide 12.  Can you think of a time when you saw something that was unfair?  Talk about it with your family.  Did something happen, to put things right?  What would make things fairer?

Draw a picture and write about your ideas.

Reading, Writing and Grammar

This week, we are using a video resource from the Literacy Shed. The booklet compliments the video.

Science

This week, I would like  you to use last week's Maths learning to measure the rainfall this week. Have a look through the PowerPoint and then create your own rain gauge. The worksheet can be used to record your findings.

Topic

Henry VIII's eating habits and food choices are different to how we eat today. Have a look through the PowerPoint, make sure you have a go at the online game, and then try to create a healthier feast for the King's court.
