Week 3
The children worked so hard to plan and present our morning worship on Wednesday, I'm sure that, like us, you were very proud of them! Archdeacon Mike was impressed with the confidence, insight and sincerity that they showed. Thank you to all who attended, and special thanks to the volunteers who provided refreshments and helped put away the stage and chairs.
The souks of Baghdad came to our classroom later in the week. We are learning about the location of the city at the centre of important trade routes such as the Silk Road. The children got to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the market place. They enjoyed getting into character, as you can see!
In our art lesson the children learned to create geometric patterns inspired by the art of Islam. We used compasses to build patterns from circles. You could try out more ideas at home.
