Week 3

Hello my Fantastic Finches and your Fabulous Families!

I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Thank you for all your lovely messages throughout last week, it's good to hear how you are getting on. I am going to start this week, with a message for your wonderful parents during these challenging times:

Thank you for all your help, hard work and encouragement when supporting your children with their schoolwork at home. Don't stress about this schoolwork. I am the teacher and will get your children back on track. What I can't fix is the social-emotional trauma that prevents the brain from learning. So right now, I just need you to share your calm, share your strength and share your laughter with your children. No children are ahead. No children are behind. Your children are exactly where they need to be. Thank you.

Now back to my Finches, a couple of messages to start:

Firstly, to wish a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to George on Wednesday - HAVE FUN!

Secondly, I have been chatting to Mrs. Firth and we know you Finches were due to perform "Julius Caesar" for your parents next Tuesday. We still want this to happen when we return to school, so Mrs. Firth has asked me to remind you to keep practising your lines.

As promised, I have included some photos of Lacey and what she's been doing. She has also chosen your Reading Comprehension for this week, it's about caring for dogs!

Lacey has been doing lots of walking, swimming and fetching sticks! Even she didn't try to pick up this huge tree stump, which we came across . . . sorry Mrs. Hornby, it would have been perfect in our Forest School!

Now here's the work for you to do throughout this week. Please remember not to worry about completing everything, just do the best you can. I fully understand if you can't print out the sheets, it is fine to write any answers on paper.
