Week 3

On Wednesday Eagles Class went to St Vincent's Junior School to meet author Liz Kessler.

Liz has written more than 20 books for children and young adults. Her Emily Winsnap books have been translated into 25 languages and have currently sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

It was interesting to learn that Liz wasn't always the best behaved pupil at school and certainly didn't have the neatest handwriting! However, she was inspired by her English teacher and can't think of a better job in life than being an author.

We began our World Book Day celebrations on Friday with a reading breakfast. Dressed in our pyjamas or as our favourite characters, we enjoyed delicious brioche and croissants whilst we chatted about our favourite books and authors.

We welcomed Footlights Theatre Company back to school later and thoroughly enjoyed their production based around books we have all enjoyed: Harry Potter, The Demon Dentist, How to Train Your Dragon and the Horrible Histories series.
