We've enjoyed a wide and varied curriculum this week. In maths we secured our understanding of the link between decimals, fractions and percentages and in English we are now ready to begin the process of writing our own stories based on our quality text. In PE we began a series of tennis lessons and in science designed our own classification system for birds.

In history we considered the factors taken into account by Caliph al-Mansur when he chose the site to build Baghdad, the capital of the new empire.

Our market stall gave us an indication of the importance of the Silk Road in choosing the location for the city. Goods from the far East, Africa and Asia were all traded. The selection of spices created an authentic smell in the classroom.
