Week 2
Swallows Class Blog Week 2 Autumn 2
We have had a great week in Swallows class. Thank you to all our parents who attended parents’ evening online, it was great to speak to you all.
Science:
We enjoyed completing our Science topic on Forces and magnets. We investigated which coins were magnetic and non-magnetic. We also explored magnets using paperclips. Swallows will be starting a science topic on light from next week.
Design and Technology:
Swallows class worked together to create pyramids out of clay.
Here are the final designs:

Remembrance Day:
Swallows class have enjoyed learning about Remembrance Day. They listened to music, wrote a poem and did a word search. We read the book Poppy Field by Michael Morpurgo.
Have a look at our Reflection area and photos.

Happy Diwali:
We had a brilliant show and tell from a member of Swallows Class. We learnt all about the festival of Diwali.
We learnt that…
Diwali is a very important holiday in India.
It is a Hindu ‘festival of lights’ which celebrates the New Year.
The word Diwali means ‘row of lighted lamps’.

Handwashing:
We have been continuing to work hard on washing our hands. In Swallows classroom we now have a lovely handwashing display.

Children in Need 2020:
Finally, we ended our week with Children in Need- we played games and coloured in pictures of Pudsey in golden time.
