Doves Class Blog Week 2

The year 4 Doves children were once again amazing at Oldfield Bank Care home on Monday, demonstrating all our school values and showing care and collaboration.

RE:

Tuesday was Shrove Tuesday - firstly we all joined in the PTA Pancake Toss. What fun we had! Doves achieved 908 flips. All your donations are very much appreciated. Then after this we enjoyed some pancakes.

We had:  lemon, sugar, chocolate and Jam- Yum!

We have also learnt about the true meaning of Lent and some of our children are giving up their favourite things for Lent. We are also taking part in the “40 Acts” to practise our value of service.

Guess What!

The circus has come to ACE. Doves, Swallows and Finches have enjoyed the learning about the circus this week. This is our HOOK to our quality text, “Leon and The Place Between”.

We have started making predictions about what will happen in the story.

We have made lots of notes on our senses: what we saw, felt, touched, tasted and smelt!

Ask us about the circus, we can even show you how to play hook and duck!

Well done to all those children who are continuing to read every night. The hard work is really paying with your writing and spelling.
