Week 1
Hello Finches and your families!
I hope you are all keeping safe and well at this difficult time. I trust you have eaten plenty of Easter eggs this weekend and enjoyed the sunny weather too! I miss you all very much and I did promise to include some pictures of "Lacey" in my weekly blog, so here she is:
This is Lacey, she is 7 years old and used to be a guide dog. Like you, she is missing her friends at the moment. Barney is her best buddy!

I take Lacey for an hour walk each day as our daily exercise. She loves swimming and look at the size of the stick she found to play with today!!!!

Anyway that's enough about Lacey for now. I promise to include some pictures of her at the start of each week, as I put your home learning on our class page. Please don't worry about completing everything I set for you, just do the best you can. Take care & stay safe! Love Miss Gregory x
Parents, here's a letter explaining the link to our daily maths lessons:
Maths for week beginning 14/4/20:
Please go to 'www.whiterosemaths.com/homelearning' and select Year 4.
As our Easter holiday was quite early, please start at 'Week 1' (not Summer Term Week 1).
You will see that Lesson 1 - Recognise tenths and hundredths - is where we were when school had to close. It would be a good idea to recap this lesson to get you started.
Tuesday 14th April: Lesson 2 - Tenths as decimals
Wednesday 15th April: Lesson 3 - Tenths on a place value grid
Thursday 16th April: Lesson 4 - Tenths on a number line
Friday 17th April: Lesson 5 - Dividing 1 digit by 10
I would still like you to practise your 'Times Tables Rock Stars' for about 15 minutes, twice a week.
English for week beginning 14/4/20:
Here's a reminder for Bug Club for reading
Choose challenge 1,2 or 3 on this SPaG mat
Please correct the spelling mistakes on the first sheet of the Year 3/4 words . Please do one of these sheets each week.
I would like you to write a Thank You letter or message to the Key Workers, to show your appreciation for everything they are doing at this very difficult time. Please illustrate your message too, here are some examples to help you. Remember to clap for the NHS and other Key Workers at 8:00pm on Thursday!
Science for week beginning 14/4/20:
Our theme is "Animals including Humans".
I would like you to use the videos and activities on ''Espresso Learning at Home' for this study.

Our French teacher Nathalie has prepared this week's lesson for you about animals.
Well there is plenty to keep you all busy throughout this week. Please don't worry if you can't print out the sheets. You can work on paper or write any answers on the back of the home learning pack sheets which we sent home with you on 20th March.
Finally, I want to say that I hope Alex, Tristan, Finley, Leon, Katherine.F, Katherine.H and Samuel all enjoyed their birthdays since we finished school. Also I'd like to wish Alana a very Happy Birthday for next weekend!
Please keep safe & well Finches and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
Love Miss Gregory x
