Sam Thompson Foundation Governor
My name is Sam Thompson and I am a Year 6 teacher at Bowdon CE Primary School, where I have worked for 7 years. I currently lead Assessment and English there, and sit on the Strategic Development Team. My degree is in English and that remains my passion - I am a first-round judge on BBC 500 Words and a KS2 Moderator for Trafford, which means I deliver training to Year 6 teachers and visit schools to ensure that their assessment of writing is accurate and consistent. I grew up in Wigan but now live in Wilmslow, where my 3 children go to school. When I am not acting as a maid, chef and taxi service for them, I enjoy reading, running and shoe shopping. I am really looking forward to being a governor at Altrincham CE - I have been the staff governor at Bowdon for the past 3 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the governance experience.
