Beyond The Lines - Nightingale Class’s War Poetry

It brings me so much pleasure to show you what we have been up to recently. As a class, we have tackled the poem by Siegfried Sassoon called: How To Die. Looking at this poem taught us how to use figurative language. From this point we watched  Beyond The Lines animated film as a stimulus for our writing. We worked hard to write poems to narrate the film. The children aimed to include: similes, metaphors, alliteration, and colons to name but a few of the skills. They are all suitably proud of their finished work. We hope you will enjoy reading a few.
